Quick Answer: How Many Sidearms Are There?

This database tracks 15 Sidearms. They include direct-damage tools, movement devices, defensive options, summons, and collection equipment. Sidearms consume Joules, and most can be found repeatedly in field destructibles, shops, or chests.

The Fishing Rod is the main exception: it must first be borrowed from Irwin and Durwin in Nox's Bayou. The Drill Driver also has a reliable fixed acquisition route in Eastern Heath.

15 Sidearms tracked
1–5 Joules per use
5 Priority guides queued
2 Carry slots with permit
Important: “How to Get” does not always mean one exact location. Most Sidearms reappear as world pickups, while a small number have a fixed first unlock or a reliable route.

How Sidearms Work

Joules are Sidearm ammunition

Every Sidearm use consumes Joules. Low-cost options such as the Fog Thrower and Hollower's Rocks are easier to use repeatedly, while high-cost Sidearms such as the Dynamo Lantern demand better timing. Joule Boxes permanently raise the maximum amount Mina can carry.

Most Sidearms are repeatable pickups

Most Sidearms are not tied to one permanent collectible slot. They can appear in field destructibles, shops, and chests, so the database distinguishes a fixed first unlock from a repeatable acquisition source.

The Fishing Rod is different

The Fishing Rod must first be borrowed from Irwin and Durwin in Nox's Bayou. After that first unlock, it can enter the normal pickup pool. It also connects to the Fish Board and fish-related completion.

Two Sidearms require the Dual Sidearm Permit

Speak to Brandish and Holden near their carriage in western Ossex. The Dual Sidearm Permit costs 2,000 Bones and allows Mina to carry two Sidearms instead of one.

Sidearm Feats need specific setups

Conditions such as hitting four targets with one Volt Hatchet or spraying six enemies continuously with the Fog Thrower are much easier in carefully chosen rooms. Use the 100% Checklist to track Sidearm collection now. The separate Sidearm Feats Guide should be added only after its tested locations are ready.

Mina the Hollower Sidearms FAQ

How many Sidearms are in Mina the Hollower?

This database tracks 15 Sidearms. The list includes Angler's Raft, Beckoning Collar, Bounding Bombs, Deflector Parasol, Drill Driver, Dynamo Lantern, Fishing Rod, Fog Thrower, Gnawing Ghosts, Gyro Dagger, Hollower's Rocks, Iron Steed, Mist Jar, Recall Disc, and Volt Hatchet.

What is the best Sidearm for traversal?

The Drill Driver is one of the strongest general traversal options because its forward burst can extend jumps. Iron Steed is faster on suitable ground, while Deflector Parasol, Mist Jar, and Recall Disc solve different gap or positioning problems.

What is the best Sidearm for healing?

Mist Jar is the clearest healing Sidearm because passing through enemies restores a small amount of health. Its value increases when a room contains several enemies lined up for one dash.

What is the cheapest Sidearm to use?

Fog Thrower and Hollower's Rocks cost 1 Joule per use. Low cost does not automatically mean better: their value depends heavily on enemy placement, room geometry, and the goal of the current route.

Do I permanently keep the Sidearm I find?

Sidearms operate differently from permanent Trinket collection slots. Most return through field pickups, shops, or chests. The Sidearm Recoverer upgrade can protect the last equipped Sidearm when Mina dies without a Spark.

Does every Sidearm have a Sidearm Feat?

No. The achievement categories do not map perfectly one-to-one to all 15 Sidearms. Some Feats are filed under other groups, while Fishing Rod and Angler's Raft connect more strongly to collection and fishing progress.
